Product was great and arrived as described - but there were MAJOR issues with the shipping and attempted return! My account is associated to my address in AZ (main address and billing address) - however, all my purchases (which are grocery) are delivered to my son at college (Crawfordsville, IN). When I purchased the item, I selected to have it shipped to the IN location - but it arrived in AZ! I don't know how, but the default shipping location is the IN address and it was properly displayed at time of purchase.
My son had already left to return to college (after Christmas break) - so I was going to return the speaker and then repurchase and have him pick it up at the local store instead. I went on the Walmart app (where I made the purchase) and initiated the Return. The app told me to return the item to the local Customer Service counter.
Well, let me tell you - Walmart customer service (in Goodyear, AZ) told me that they could not help me with the return (contrary to the app's message, which I showed them) - because it was a "3rd party seller on their marketplace". Okay, well, I purchased (and paid) on the Walmart app - and the app told me to return to the store! When I asked them what the return procedure is, they told me they didn't have any info for me. Excuse me, what?! I made a $300 purchase on the Walmart app, it was delivered to the wrong address - and now you can't help me with the return!!! The associate at the store had a major attitude when I questioned this gap in the Walmart procedures. The app should not allow me to initiate a return, then tell me to return to the store - if that's not the correct way! So, I attempted to contact the reseller (Sound Distributors Inc) at the number listed on their Walmart marketplace listing - and I left a voice mail. I never received a return call!!! After a few more attempts, I realized this was never going to be resolved by anyone - as accountability was clearly an afterthought.
I ended up having to ship the large item (~25lbs 15x15x28) via UPS. Cost me $148 for ground with insurance!!! I'll never purchase anything other than groceries from Walmart again - and that's because nobody else delivers to his school. I'm sure I tell everyone not to use the Walmart app, specifically Marketplace sellers!
