I bought these cotton swabs because the other brand names ones seem toi have less cotton tips as they used to have. I fluff up the cotton tips on all of the swabs I use so that if I go too far into the ear canal, if won't warm my eardrum. These tips seems to be very good quality, and have more cotton, and are well made.
