Today, is New Year's day, I thought I had ordered frozen black eye peas but it was my mistake I ordered purple hull peas. I was so disappointed because I live in the southwest and black eye peas is a tradition today…..I had these which I have only used in a sausage, BE peas, and rice skillet dish. For NYD, I made a pot of pinto beans and put these black eyed peas in it along with leftover ham. OMG! It was so good! The black eyed peas have a little kick, which I love! The texture is good, not gritty at all. And the smell, YUM! Plus, my family will all have good luck in 2026 because we ate three. Worth it!
