Our old microwave was also a GE. It was 1150 watts. The new one is 1200 watts and is a lot bigger and heavier than I thought it would be. I really like the new one. Popcorn setting works better than the old microwave. Also, the new one is quieter. I also like the black and stainless steel design.

Perfect if you have kids
We've had GE microwaves for 10+ years. Bought this to replace the one that our daughter burnt 1. soy sauce packets, 2. macaroni and cheese and 3. cookie dough in. The cookie dough finally got it. It flamed up and filled the house with black smoke. We could not get the smell out so we finally replaced with this one. Pleasantly surprised at the price ($179ish on sale) AND, unbeknownst to us when we bought it, it has a ***BONUS*****metal sensor in it and will not start if there is metal in there!
