I have used Van Camp's Pork and Beans for more than 50 years! My oldest child will be 55 years old in a couple of months! I have always preferred the taste and texture of Van Camp's over other brands. I have never gotten a bad batch! I have always served Van Camp's Pork and Beans to my family (husband and four children). The taste of the tomato sauce and the texture of the beans are excellent! Comfort food that's been a choice since 1894
In the US this is the standard upon which all basic "pork and beans" should be judged. Almost classic label and logo make it easy to select. One small warning is that you might want to drain the can so that the excess liquid is removed, making the beans tidier on a plate. From childhood i have avoided the piece of pork fat that i suppose is there to keep things legal. I don't even recall seeing this white blob lately. Fine with me. If you want pork, add your own in the form of hot dogs or cooked straight pork.
