Stove Top DirectionsPick a Protein: You need 1 lb. meat of your choice• Ground Beef • Ground Sausage • Ground Pork • Ground Turkey. Cook: Brown ground meat in 3-quart saucepan. Drain fat. Mix 2-1/2 cups water, Rice Mix and 1 Tbsp. oil (optional) in saucepan until well blended. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover. Simmer 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Enjoy: Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving.

My family loves this reduced sodium dirty rice!
We eat it as is, or add diced tomatoes and a can of corn (drained) after it has been prepared, just giving another minute or two to heat all the ingredients. It's great either way, but I like adding the additional veggies, to turn it into a healthy, one-pot meal by itself. Adding the additional veggies does tone down the heat a bit, so my husband sometimes splashes on a little Louisiana hot sauce on his.
