The bristles are soft but so close together that it doesn't work well. It's hard to describe but it's too '"grabby" on the skin.. It's very hard to buy some things without actually touching them due to this pandemic but to be honest, touching it dry still doesn't clue you in that it doesn't measure up when scrubbing the ol' back in the shower. Finally got what I wanted - the Feng shui one
