Love the Dupe, Struggling With the Original

I tried a knockoff of this first and honestly loved it. It was soft, lightly sweet, and mellow with just a hint of that woody saffron. Figured I'd upgrade to the real thing… but it's not hitting the same at all. This feels like it skips the smooth, sweet base entirely and goes straight to that sharp, spicy perfume note. Way more woody, barely any sweetness, and there's almost a musky acidic edge to it. On me it leans “classic old-lady perfume” in a way I wasn't expecting. Pretty disappointed given the price. To each his own I suppose.
