I bought this blanket when my space heater could not keep up. It was 32 degrees outside and 52 where I sleep. Traditional blankets (multiple !) were just not enough. I was freezing ! And so ... I haven't had a heated blanket in a while. I love that I can set this to a range of temps. I also love that it feels plush without feeling too weighty. I use mine under a quilt and I do not get overheated. Being over 50 it is important not to get too hot or too cold.
