If you work with metals, you will need a hammer with rubber and plastic heads to avoid scratches. Use to flatten wire or other metal pieces. Head is 2 1/2 inches long. Heads narrow to 5/8 inch. 9 1/2 Inches total length.9.5 Inches total length. PLEASE NOTE: We recommend eye protection with the use of any tools.

PROTECT YOUR WIRE: Jeweler’s mallets are ideal for use directly on metal for forming, bending, shaping, and flattening wire and sheet metal. The plastic and rubber faces will not mar the metal, protecting your art and minimizing any damage during creation.
DUAL SIDED TOOL: This metal working hammer has a wooden handle, measuring 9.5 inches in length. The head size is 61mm and weighs 3oz. Each round face is 17mm/0.67” in diameter. The handle is securely screwed into a metal center that connects to each head. To create personalized jewelry, mix and match metals to for unique fashion statements or steampunk looks.
PLASTIC FACE: Made of a hard yellow plastic, and like nylon, the plastic serves to protect your wire designs from the marring a steel hammer would cause. As you hammer the wire flattens and the shape begins to harden, which strengthens the metal. This is handy for larger pieces and creating jewelry designs with beading or craft wires.
RUBBER FACE: Like plastic and nylon, the rubber side is also a protective material. The soft, black face delivers a softer impact than hammers with metal heads. They are essential if you work needs to be free of impact markings, such as leatherwork. Also use for more delicate work, such as earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. The hammer is lightweight, which also helps with hand fatigue often associated with metalworking.
