Static V Short
I'm not an ultralight hiker but I bought the Static V Short partly to save a bit on weight...partly because I sleep on my side in a curled up / semi-fetal position so I figured I didn't need a full length pad anyhow. I also really hate foam pads that need to be slung on the outside of my pack when hiking. This is my first inflatable. I've been out on a couple weekend hikes already and really like the pad. Packs up small and most importantly sleeps very comfortably. While researching pads, I saw some reviewers grouse a bit about the Static Vs being noisy when you change positions. Meh. I'm an active sleeper. The pad does make noise but it's an easy trade for all it's other positives. I can't comment on long term durability. Obviously it's an inflatable so at some point it will leak/pop/get punctured. The material feels fairly resilient. I'll just need to treat it more carefully than my old closed-cell foam pad.

Perfect fit for those on the shorter side
This is one of my favorite sleep pads so far. It is lightweight, packs up to the size of a pop can, and works perfectly well for my size (I'm 5' 5"). I've been a Klymit user for years and this particular model is my favorite so far. I recommend it for backcountry backpackers, for sure.

I’m an international airline pilot
I’m an international airline pilot and our relief business class seat is extremely uncomfortable and how someone signed off on the design is inconceivable. I used the static V short that another pilot had used on his break and it was amazingly comfortable and fit perfectly. I bought one for myself that day and have used it ever since. Small, light weight, and easy to use.
