Darjeeling tea, known as the Champagne of Teas, is amongst the finest tea in the world. This sampling from the Darjeeling region of West Bengal, set deep in the Himalayan mountain range, is a shining example of the complexities of this all too famous tea. Light, crisp flavor with a smooth astringent finish makes this a favorite among tea lovers worldwide.

Our Darjeeling tea is sourced from Margaret's Hope Estate, located in the Himalayas, India. Located at an altitude of 6,000 ft, Margaret's Hope has nearly all Chinese bushes which give its teas a unique flavor and fragrance. Because the tea is grown at very high altitudes and in cooler weather, the bushes do not grow quickly, and so production is limited.

This tea is harvested in June, often considered the best time of the year for quality (the second flush), during which Darjeelings are incomparable to any other tea in the world. This is a delicate black tea with flavors reminiscent of black currants with a similar fragrance of muscat grapes - some describe the flavor as slightly nutty.

Loose Leaf Tea is not prepackaged in tea bags. Loose tea leaves will fully expand when steeped to produce superior taste + flavor that's complex bold and stronger with depth. Bulk loose leaf tea requires a steeper strainer filter or tea infuser when brewing in a cup or teapot
