We're sorry to hear that you're having this experience, Joyce, as our Febreze PLUG does go through many quality checks to ensure that it reaches you in the best possible condition. We'd be happy to see how we can best help. If there seems to be no scent coming out at all, we suggest making sure that the PLUG refill has been clicked into place. When the refill is properly inserted, you won't be able to see the plastic ring that holds the jars together. As well, make sure that the devie is fully inserted into the outlet, and that it's set to Low, Medium, or High, and not in the middle.
