Converted pen? Don't care, love it with new ink.
Rotring makes two (maybe three) styles of Skynn pens. Retractable ballpoint, fountain pens, and a non-retractable ballpoint. I was unaware of this third type until I made this purchase. I can't tell if they've been converted from the fountain pen style or not but the one with the cap is exactly what the fountain pen looks like except it has a ballpoint rather than a nib. The ink insert on the ones I received has dried up and is inoperable. (This is the reason for 4 stars.) Never fear, a Pilot G2 refill fits this pen and that ink paired with this barrel will give a wonderful writing experience. I've had my old retractable and fountain Rotring(s) Skynn(s) for years and used them daily. They're comfortable for extended periods and knowing that these "new" non-retractables will take a refill makes me glad of my purchase. Love the pen, just get a new ink refill.

Waste of money
I purchased these because they are supposed to be ergonomically helpful. But what good does that do if they don't even work. One of them did not even have any ink in it. Two others were scratchy on the surface and not smooth and skip when trying to write. Only one (out of four) actually wrote, after some attempts. I wish I had never bought these. Dont waste your money and time on this JUNK.
