Canker cover should not be used on children under 5 years old without consulting a physician.

Instructions
Adults and Children 5 years of Age and Older: Directions for Use: Adults and children 5 years of age and older. The sore should be dry (pat with tissue) if possible. Place the Canker Cover Patch on a clean, dry finger with the white side up. Place the white side on the sore and hold in place for 20 seconds. If sore is difficult to reach (in the fold between the cheek and gum or near the teeth or lip) break the patch along the score and use half. Some discomfort may occur during the first few minutes, but will quickly subside, followed by hours of soothing relief. Within 30 minutes the tablet forms a clear, gel-like bandage that seals and protects the sore for hours before dissolving. Do not remove the patch before it dissolves. In case of discomfort, the patch may be removed by gently peeling the tablet from the sides while washing with warm water. Do not use any instrument to remove the patch. It needed, apply up to 3 patches per day. In most cases just one patch is needed. Not recommended for children under 5 years of age. Consult your dentist or doctor before using.

Excellent product, excellent pain relief!
I've been using these canker sore patches for several years already. Most of the time they are very easy to apply and give excellent pain relief. The patch stays in place while eating or drinking. Every now and then I will get a canker sore in a spot to difficult to apply the patch so I can't use it, then I have to resort to using one of the Canker sore liquids. Thats not the fault of the product, its just the location of the sore. I discovered that if I use toothpaste with fluoride, I get a canker sore. Now I mostly use toothpaste without fluoride. So anybody that gets canker sores, you may want to consider trying a fluoride free toothpaste to see if it makes a difference for you.
