Damp clothes constantly

It does have a big capacity, which is nice. We have had it for 6 months, and it has been very frustrating to get the clothes dry. I've tried every setting. The clothes are often slightly damp after every cycle, even with the heat and dryness setting all the way up. If I retry the cycle, it's sensors turn it off after a few minutes, even though the clothes are still slightly damp. The only way I can bypass this is by doing a "Quick Dry" cycle and turning the time up. The loads that aren't even very big are still coming out damp. I've checked and cleaned the vent hose and all filters, and there is no blockage. I've opened the door to the dryer and the door is covered in condensation still. Things should not still be so wet after drying at the highest setting for 1.5 hours. I've completely given up the hope of having a towel or blanket load dry fully in one go. I want hot, fluffy clothes, not cold, damp clothes. I don't have the time or energy to keep fighting with this thing.

Not sure about it

The dust bin is faulty -- things get stuck in it and it doesn't pull the dust out very well. The clothes seem extra wrinkled compared to other dryers i've owned.

Drying and venting issues

I recently purchased a new dryer and have been disappointed with both the design and overall performance. The biggest issue is the venting system. The vent connection feels poorly engineered, making installation more difficult than it should be, and airflow does not seem efficient. Even with a properly cleaned vent line, the dryer struggles to circulate heat effectively. Drying times are much longer than expected. A normal-sized load often requires two or even three cycles before clothes are fully dry, which wastes both time and energy. Heavier items like towels and bedding come out damp around the edges and need additional drying. The build quality also feels underwhelming for a new appliance. Some components seem lightweight and not very durable, especially around the lint filter and vent connection areas. For the price, I expected a much more reliable and better-designed product. Overall, this dryer has been frustrating to use due to the poor venting design, inconsistent drying performance, and excessive drying times. I would not recommend it unless the manufacturer improves the airflow system and overall quality.

Hello. We appreciate you sharing your experience with your LG DLG8401BE Dryer, and we understand how important strong airflow and consistent drying performance are for a gas dryer. When drying takes longer than expected, confirming the vent path is short, straight, and free of restrictions can make a big difference in heat circulation. Ensuring the exhaust duct isn’t crushed behind the unit and using rigid metal ducting can also help the dryer move air efficiently. You can review proper venting and installation tips here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-dryer-proper-venting-and-installation-tips--1384530313229 If loads are still coming out damp, checking the lint filter housing for buildup and confirming the gas supply valve is fully open can support more consistent heating. Additional steps for long dry times are outlined here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-dryer-why-is-my-dryer-not-heating-not-drying-or-taking-a-long-time-drying--1432223739634 We’d be glad to take a closer look at your unit details and help get performance back on track.
