This sharpener ought to last -- has a 7 year warranty. And it will handle my family's colored pencils, those I use for making notes, and even crayons if my grandchild needs them sharpened. Has a heavy-duty feel, about twice the weight of my old single-hole electric one. It frequently left part of the wood on the pencil lead so it wouldn't write properly. I suspect that won't be the case with this one. Happy with purchase!

This sharpener is truly wonderful. I've had it for some time now, longer than i have had any other sharpener! A few weeks ago, the quality of sharpening wasn't as good as it had been. It seemed like the blade had become dull. I was able to simply buy a replacement blade that one of my students changed in under a minute and it was working like new. The blade was only $10! The sharpener is a little pricey but well worth because i'll never have to replace it, just the blades. I'm an art teacher and we use the heck out this thing. AND it works great on color pencils and triangular pencils. i will never buy another sharpener
