Still the best

Quicken still seems to be the gold standard for personal finance software - there are other "freemium" services out there but they're free or cheap at the cost of your data. Quicken Desktop is actively under development %26 although I'm not a huge fan of the subscription model, I understand the need since it does connect to almost any financial institution and automatically bring in transactions.

A great way to renew Quicken subscription

I am a long time fan of Quicken and use it extensively for tracking spending, investments, and rental properties. When it became a subscription-based product, it was improved significantly; old bugs were finally removed and it continues to improve. But the subscription price is a bit high. A full retail box product can be bought for less than the annual subscription renewal fee and that license can then be applied to extend one's current subscription by a year. Big savings!
