Before cleaning: Test a hidden section of carpet for colorfastness. Directions for best results: 1. Vacuum thoroughly to remove loose dirt. 2. Shake bottle well before using. 3. Pre-treat tough stains with Resolve Urine Destroyer. 4. For home-owned and rental machines recommended use is 2.3 FL. OZ. of Resolve Urine Destroyer (2x) per gallon of hot tap water. Note: the water chamber in many leading machines holds one gallon of water. 5. Deep clean carpet and upholstery following machine user's guide. 6 Allow carpet to dry thoroughly before using area. Product should be used in a well-ventilated room. Children and pets should be kept out of the room and off the carpet while wet to touch. Children and pets should be kept off the carpet for 2 hours after it is dry to touch.

I was ready to buy new carpet in my family room because of the dog odor and stains. I used this product in my carpet cleaning machine and I'm very happy with the results. Carpets are clean and fluffy again. The odor is completely gone and my whole house smells fresh and clean. The other brand carpet shampoos I've used in the past never gave results like this. . This works great for removing pet stains and odors. It does have a fairly strong scent which I find pleasant, but if you are sensitive to fragrance do an extra pass over your floors with water only to help get out the residue.
