Sennheiser AMBEO Max Soundbar - 5.1.4 Channel with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X

I've used Sennheiser mics and audio equipment professionally for years, but this is my first experience with their home audio. I bought the AMBEO Max in March, 2023 (6 months ago), paired it with a 300 watt, 12” SVS sub, and I was not disappointed! PRESENCE: We have an open floor plan, ~900 s/f with 12' ceilings and the AMBEO is easily able to fill our space without pushing it. At 75%, music will drown out all conversation, and movie sound is immersive. For its size, I'm impressed with the output. SURROUND: You can definitely hear the surround effect, though our room layout limits it. The listening area backs up to the kitchen, so there's no rear wall for the sound to reflect off. There are walls on the sides and you can definitely hear the sound reflecting. I'd say we get about 180°-240° sound. COMPARABLE: We tried Klipsch floor-standing speakers. The AMBEO doesn't have quite the volume, but I think the sound quality is slightly better. Setup is far simpler—no receiver (and no cabinet) and no cables to run/hide around the room. And our living room doesn't look like a recording studio with hi-fi equipment lining the walls… CONFIGURATION: Our TV is hung at viewing height and only sticks out 2” from the wall, so I didn't want huge floor-standing speakers protruding into the room—AMBEO fit the bill perfectly. Our primary setup is Apple TV > AMBEO > Samsung QN95 (TV), and we can do everything with just the Apple TV remote (power on/off, volume, etc.) My only complaint would be that 1 out of 10 times when you power on, it defaults to TV input and you have to use the AMBEO remote to change the input to the Apple TV. I would recommend the AMBEO Max to anyone with a medium/large space. We tried the AMBEO Max at a friend's house who had a smaller room for their TV and it was overpowering. The smaller Soundbar Plus was a much better fit.
