You Will Need: 1-1/2 Cups Water: 1/2 Cup Milk; 3 Tablespoons Butter. Stove-Top Directions: 1. Heat water and butter to a rapid boll in 2-quart saucepan. Remove from heat. 2. Stir in milk and potatoes until well blended. 3 Cover: let stand 2 minutes to complete cooking. Microwave Directions Do not leave microwave unattended while cooking potatoes. 1: Combine water, milk, and butter in 1-1/2-quart microwavable casserole dish. 2. Microwave on high 2:00. 3 Add potatoes: stir until well blended. Microwave on high 2:30 to 3:30. 4. Stir. Microwave times developed using 1000-watt microwave ovens. Due to differences in microwave ovens, cooking times may need to be adjusted. Just Add Water! Potatoes can be prepared with just water on the stove-top or in the microwave. Use 2 cups water, and omit butter and milk. For food safety and quality, follow the cooking directions. Refrigerate leftovers. Caution Handle carefully dish may be Hot! For stiffer potatoes, let stand 3 to 5 minutes. For less stiff potatoes, stir in more milk, 1 tablespoon at a time. Tear open at notch.

Yummy!
We like the taste and texture of Betty Crocker mashed potatoes even more than Idahoan. I make these in the microwave all the time, and 2 cups of water is correct. The reviewer who said her potatoes were watery, may not have realized it, but had to have measured incorrectly. Human error, not the fault of the product.
