my right leg is amputated above my knee and I needed something sturdy and a little high enough that I could get up and down easily while camping. this mattress was the best. I would imagine it would be great even for older people who need that extra help to get up that are not able to get up from the ground like I can't. thanks to this mattress I can go camping. I have a little battery that you can plug into that I carry with me in my van. I was able to plug straight into my battery pack and inflate it and less than 5 minutes. deflating it and taking it down was just as easy. I highly recommend this mattress
