I don't have intestines and such so I have to take it two to three times a day. It works great for bulking up chronic diarrhea. As far as the taste... I put it in juice. It's not really a bad taste, it's more of a texture thing, which leads me to my next point...drink it quickly as it starts to bulk in the cup. Is it as good as the name brand, absolutely. And, it less costly.

I bought this product to blend with some other powders for dieting. This is much better than I thought it would be. It has a really nice orange flavor and it is easy to drink because the flavor is good. I have tried other brands and this is my favorite.

Doesn't mix well

I'm not sure how this compares to the name brand because I've never tried it. And maybe my complaint is just how the product works, idk, but it simply does not mix well. As soon as you stir it the product almost immediately settles at the bottom of the cup and turns to a jello like substance. On the name brand packaging it tells you to mix it and drink it fast, maybe that's why. I had to use a spoon to eat the settled mixture. You may as well just poor the product into your mouth and wash it down with water. It doesn't taste bad it's just, IMO, undrinkable.
