I like that I could get this item online. I have purchased a couple spinning rods at our local store but they do not stock casting rods. I have used Ugly Sticks as long as I can remember. I still have my first one which was a twisted glass rod. Ugly stick technology is just getting better.

Excellent rod!
I have a Shimano Curado 200 on this rod (actually 3 of these combos now). We fish mainly redfish with half oz. lures or live finger mullet. These rods cast 80 to 90 feet and have plenty of backbone to handle large fish. It has also landed 20 lbs. Jack crevalle several times. Superb rod for the money.

If you are looking for an all around fishing combo, this is the one to buy! The Ugly Stik rod is and has been my favorite rod since I bought my first one in the 70's. The sensitive fast tip give you the feel you need for jigging or casting and every bite is felt. The new Ugly Tuff one piece stainless guides are the best innovation to ever hit the rod market. I won't be without my Ugly Stik!
