“Great Performance — Twice-Yearly Replacement Is Normal”
We've had our refrigerator for 1.5 years and I've been very happy with the performance of this water filter. The water tastes clean and fresh, and the ice is crystal clear. Installation is straightforward, and I appreciate knowing my family is drinking water that's properly filtered. I've noticed some reviews mentioning frustration about having to replace the filter twice a year. In fact, this is the standard maintenance schedule for all refrigerators with built‑in water filtration systems — typically every 6 months or about 473 litres. It's not unique to this brand, but simply part of owning a fridge with this feature. Yes, there is a cost to replacing filters, but that's the trade‑off for the convenience of safe, great‑tasting water right from the refrigerator. For me, the benefits far outweigh the expense, and I'm glad to have a reliable filter that does its job well.

Hard punch
This was my first change out. In my fridge, it was too far back for me to reach so I had a friend do it. The only difficult part was punching the bottom of the old filter hard enough to make it release. The rest was easy install.

We bought a set of after market filters, which both leaked at the connector seal. To make sure it wasn't the fridge, we bought this original filter. And voila, no leakage! It cost more than double the after market, but does the job and avoided a more expensive service tech to come out.
