In fairness, I wanted a sandwich maker and thought I was buying a sandwich maker. Not sure how that mistake happened. I ended up pleasantly surprised. So I put my slice of bread and fill it with this and that. It works. So for me it's both things. A sandwich maker and a grill. And it does a good job of both. Now it gets hot very fast. Don't burn your sandwich. Remove it at maximum of 2mins, and that's it
