This stand mixer is really, really nice! It is heavy and the attachments are metal, not plastic like they looked like in the pictures. Having a handle on the mixer bowl is really nice; I didn't notice it in the photos. I've used it several times and it really is easy to operate, easy to clean and looks nice on the countertop. With it, I've made chocolate chip cookies, breadsticks and several cakes and frostings. I've always heard how frustrating it is to people to scrape down the sides of the mixer bowl periodically and wondered why anyone would want a mixer that needs a partner when I could just use my hand mixer, so I didn't bother getting one. Now, I wish I had! I had to scrape down the bowl when I used my hand mixer, now I don't have to do it at all for most recipes. My arm and hand don't ache when I'm mixing ingredients the way it did whenever I used my hand mixer, so I don't mind pushing a spatula against the sides of the mixer bowl from time to time. It is wonderful! Having said that, the blades come so close to the sides and bottom of this mixing bowl, it is not possible to scrape down the sides while the mixer is running. The top is heavy and to lift it requires two hands, but it isn't prohibitive. I really like working with it. It is also extremely quiet compared to my hand mixer and it doesn't vibrate and sling off wildly when it encounters a chunk of heavy dough. It does its job so fast, baking is fun start to finish. If you're on the fence or considering another type or brand, don't hesitate to give this mixer a try. I've grown very attached to my pretty red mixer, so I hope it lasts for many years!

I have only used it once to make a cake that takes a very strong mixer and it did the job very. I can barely use my hands so this stand mixer was the best suited for my needs on the reviews I read on other mixers. I am well pleased and would recommend it to anyone..
