Veterinary Formula Clinical Care Hot Spot and Itch Relief Medicated Spray for Dogs and Cats, 8 oz.

My senior dog, Toby, was having a terrible time recently, biting at an itch that just would not go away at the base of his tail, and I got this Hot Spot Itch Relief spray at the same time, hoping it would work. I was desperate, really, because usually he had no problems of this sort because he was on an overall flea, tick and heartworm medicine that took care of all those itch-related critters that would normally cause any kind of skin irritation. In fact, I had no clue what was causing the itch, but it assumed it was some little bug of some sort. Because he couldn't take his heartworm meds because of a medical condition, I was given the go-ahead to try this spray, thankfully, so after reviewing the directions and making sure it was okay for him to have it, I tried one application at night the day I received it. This would have been about three days after he had started scratching and biting at the base of his tail, and he'd do it about once every hour to two hours for minutes and minutes on end, driving himself and me both crazy. Well, by the next morning, he was already biting at the area only a few times! I went ahead and sprayed the area again, and for the next few hours, I only saw him biting at the same area ONE TIME! I was amazed. No lie. I'm not being paid for my opinion and always give an honest one, good or bad. I have to say I was incredibly impressed. I ended up not even NEEDING to give him another "dose" of the spray, because he didn't even NEED one. I separated the fur a bit in the area where he'd been biting at it to have a look, and it was only slightly pinkish in color, but the skin itself was already starting to heal. Happy dog, happy dog owners. Incredible stuff, and I honestly do believe he would have continued to scratch and bite, and whatever it was causing the skin irritation healed because of the spray and did not heal magically on its own. I definitely am keeping that spray by my side if I need it with the other two dogs or Toby again, and cannot recommend it more highly!!!

This spray is easy to use and my dog seems to love it. First the cooling sensation and then the pain/itch relief. From the very first night I used this on her, I realized I wished I had known about this before. I have no idea what made my dog scratch and bite at her fur, but now she doesn't do so. She doesn't have fleas. She is an inside dog except for necessary trips to a spacious fenced piece of property, so she has no contact with other animals and this prevents lots of problems. So wherever the itch was coming from is gone. Works so well on her that I feel tempted (almost) to use it personally sometimes. Back to that first night of usage.. The dog slept well, and so did I . No weird sounds coming from her. No clanging of the buckle on her collar hitting the kitchen floor. So it is a relief for both of us. She feels better and so do I. Neat product and I recommend it.
