Doesn't punch through anything thicker than paper

I got this to punch through vinyl sticker sheets. The sheets are not thick, about like thin cardstock. It did not work for this. I am not sure if it is because the blades are dull or if I cannot put enough pressure on the punch to punch through. I am disappointed with this. I am sure that if all you are cutting is paper, this would work fine. But if you are looking for this to punch vinyl sticker paper, even thin sheets, it won't work more than a couple of times.
