My blood glucose levels are on the high end of normal and there is a tendency in my family toward type II diabetes later in life. To keep a lid on my carb intake, I've cut back on bread, potatoes, rice and pasta & for breakfast, in lieu of cereal, I now eat 1.76 oz. Clif Nut Butter bar and a 5.3 oz. reduced sugar yogurt. In addition to modifying my diet, I've kicked up my exercise from 4 days of cardio exercise on a treadmill per week to include 2-3 days of upper body exercise at a gym each week. I'm retired now so I have no excuses for not getting the exercise. So far - so good. Until I had to fight getting type II diabetes I had no idea how high breakfast cereals were in carbs. Fortunately, one Clif bar each morning along with yogurt significantly reduces my carb intake relative to eating cereal and also satisfies my appetite. Thanks to your free sample, I'm now considering using a Clif ZBar instead of graham crackers to satisfy my sweet cravings during the evening hours.
