Fresh Whole Turnip Root, 1 lb Bag

Excellent quality! The picture shows six turnips in a bag, mine had four but they did weigh just over 1 lb. Quality-wise, these were superb. Ni yucky bruising or mushy parts. Turnips were firm with nice colorations of purple bands near the stem, and all the stems had fresh greens still attached (cut to about 1"). I love these as a breakfast skillet instead of high carb potatoes. Roasted in a pan with EVOO or organic peanut oil, and a touch of Himalayan salt. I cook them to almost tender, toss in zime onions slivers and diced garlic. Saute that for about 2 mins then add some organic marinara or pasta sauce. While the sauce is sizzling, crack some eggs and continue cooking until done to your choosing. Thank you my local Walmart for carrying such a nice array of always fresh plus organic produce.

The turnips were old but still sweet ....I may eat them all raw...I don't drive any more...was afraid some one else would not chose good produce....so far so good....my wish --is for some one to teach persons how to tend to /or learn how to give produce like lettuce and celery a drink of water....it is not rocket science .....good fresh produce is what defines a grocery store...a drink of water is what keep produce fresh
