Oh heck yeah! It's LOUD enough! I got it mainly to put it near my grandma as an additional speaker for the TV when watching movies. It has a great multicolored light, but that can also be turned off too! Speech sounds great, there is a little "cheapness" distortion but not much, and sounds better the louder it is. Has a great built-in FM radio function and I love that I can pop in an SD card with music on it and play it directly without needing to connect it to another device. The only thing I disagree with is the information said it is 12 inches. No. It is about 9 inches. Which is still big, as you can see in the photos I included. Actually, I like this size better. I think if it was 12 inches it would look out of place. I am very pleased and would definitely recommend buying this. Note: the speaker is located on the opposite side of the lights (so on the back). My granny places it face-down on her lap while watching TV and it is PERFECT, as it directs the audio straight up toward her face. And again, it is more than loud enough! I can only see going to maximum if you're outside at a party or gathering. More than adequate for that too. One last thing - for Bluetooth, it is "BS-29" - the instructions are next to useless (mostly word salad) and they do not say this part anywhere! Also, they say charge time is 3 hours and play time is 3 hours too. Though it is 30 hours play time, easily more if not at full volume.

Portable bluetooth speaker connected quickly to my bluetooth. Sound quality is great. When turned on gives a display of color. Easy to operate. It did not come with a charger, which Im quite surprise because most give you a charging cable. Overall I do recommend.
