I use this cutter tool daily I use it on boxes I'm afraid i might cut into liquid, I use it on packages I'm afraid scissors might be too sharp for, I use it on items sealed in hard plastic that are too hard to cut out with scissors. plus it has a handy magnet inside to put on handy places or on a keyring. I've never cut myself with it, however, I've used it on many items and it worked super conveniently! I love it! it makes a nice gift too!!
