It would be useful for a senior adult as well. That's why I bought it. The spout with the push button lid is easy to manipulate and the top is easy to unscrew. Many elderly people have trouble with arthritis in their hands so anything easy to open is a plus! It comes with two straws. It's on the smaller side unlike some giant water bottle so my mom can easily carry it. I liked the color and design as it doesn't look like a child's bottle.
