I guess you have to wet it before you use the 1st time to open up the fibers.It clean well getting up spots, on laminate and tile kitchen floor mainly where i used it.We use ot to put the liquid wax on the floor.you dont have to wring it out even on lg area.Cleans well.We washed it out after using it.The differnt colors could be one color for wax one color for mop kitchen one color for laminate. several Pretry colors in a pac.
