Good for those extra messy mixes.

This item is good for those extra messy mixes that have lots of dry ingredients that have to be added or for really liquid mixes that tend to make a splash. Some say this item needs to be more closed and allows too much to escape unlike a previous model. I haven't used the other version but would say that if there is to be a really wide chute then maybe the back can be closed up a little more. There are two areas where material can fly out of the bowl. However, I think it is much nicer than to have nothing at all. Some say that this item doesn't fit the bowl or it falls off of the bowl when the mixer is working. I found that it fit my bowl nicely. There are tabs that go on the outside of the bowl. If you fit two tabs on the outside of the bowl and find that there is one on the inside all you have to do is slightly and gently open the shield to fit the other tab on the outside. This allows the shield to gently hug the outside of the bowl. Voilà! Yes it would be nice to have the shield almost go all the way around except for the chute but I am happy with this item. I have purchased two so far. I do think the price could be improved on since the shield does have such big opening and is so easy to break. I'm sure I'll be buying more. If this is redesigned have a wide chute is great but the wide opening in the back is not. Perhaps they could be combined somehow or the opening in the back narrowed.

This shield fits my mixing bowl and really helps!

This wide chute fits my 5 quart Artisan tilt-head mixing bowl and really helps with adding ingredients and minimizing splattering. It's not a snap-fit, but it rests on and sort of "hugs" the top of the bowl. Where the "U" is in the shield, I still get some ingredients up on my mixer, but it's way better than no shield at all! Again, I'm using it with my stainless steel bowl that came with my 5 quart Artisan tilt-head mixer. It will not fit on my glass bowl.

Lucky: Pouring shield works for one

I just purchased a KN1PS pouring shield, hopefully to fit my larger 5qt stainless mixing bowl that came with my Professional 5 Plus stand mixer (model KP25MOXMC) but it did not. It does work well with the 3qt. smaller mixing bowl so not a total loss. Now to try & find a larger pouring shield for my 5qt. Any help for the next size part number up would be appreciated.
