I had a stroke on the right side of my body. Right side or left side either will work. This can opener works excellent. I would highly recommend it.

One-Handed Accessibility

This easiest when used with the right hand, but it is also usable left-handed. It requires some hand strength to squeeze repeatedly during operation and some dexterity to get it positioned correctly to pierce the can lid at the beginning. My husband has cerebral palsy and is able to use this independently with only one hand when he rests the can on the kitchen counter.
