I have come to trust Kolcraft Baby products and was not disappointed in the waterproof crib mattress pad/cover. Right out of the package, the mattress pad smelled fresh. No perfume odor or chemical smell. I had gotten the new pad to replace my older, different brand that I had previously used. I was happy to find this new one Kolcraft pad was a much better design than I had with my old one. The old brand had a long string system that I always feared could allow the baby pull into the bed, creating a dangerous situation. The fitted edge design of the Kolcraft pad, wraps underneath the crib mattress and the elastic is sewn in for added security. This was a much better design and the elastic edge holds the pad snuggly in place. I have had no issues with sliding, shifting, balling up or popping off. The top, is a knit diamond quilted material. It is hypoallergenic and is not only soft and comfortable, but the waterproof barrier keeps the crib mattress from getting wet in the event of an accidental issue of vomiting or diaper leakage. So far is has been stain resistant and is super easy to toss into the washer. The cost was very reasonable so I got a 2nd one so I can swap them out while washing one, I have another one handly to put back on the crib mattress. I would recommend that. This product really has worked out well for us and I would recommend it.
