These matts are beautiful. I have purchased them twice the last 2 years. they last all year. I do have a covered porch out of rain and sun. And I always get a different one at Christmas time. These mats have a nice waterproof backing that keeps them from slipping. They keep the dirt on the mat. Need to only pick up the mat %26 shake it outside or into a garbage bag. Plus. cats enjoy scratching them %26 they do not seem to be harmed. It is a better scratch pad than the cardboard cat scratchers.. I use them inside
