I have used this for about a year and a half already, I use it 3 times a week. Still works like brand new.

I was a bit worried at first after seeing the reviews say it was hard to get off. It's true that it is hard to get off, but as a tip, twist it while pulling upwards using the grips on the sides, then when you get it near the top, use your thumb to push it up at an angle and it should break the seal between it and the lid. It feels very sturdy and I think you'd have to really work hard to actually break it trying to get it off, but if you do that it shouldn't be much of a problem. It almost seems like it works too easily. I had to double check and opened several jars after sealing. Which wasn't easy. It seals very tight! It absolutely works and the moment I got one loose air went flying in, sending stuff flying inside. I have only wide-mouth jars and most of these things are designed for the normal size, so I was glad to see it worked so well on my wide-mouth jars. The included adapter for normal sized jars is a great bonus and if I ever need to use them I'm glad that I can count on this to work with them too. The only complaint I have if I could really come up with anything is just that they could have included a relief valve button to press to let air in so it would let go without having to pry it loose. That said, as I said, when you get the right technique down, it comes off fairly easily without any risk of breaking. The only other room for improvement I can think of is it might not be a bad idea to have some sort of mesh over the air intake holes to stop at least larger particles from getting in because, let's be honest, we're all going to overfill some of our jars... (The instructions explicitly say not to fill past the first thread of the lid. Although it was only one nearly full to the brim that actually sucked a bit into the machine.) It's still running fine, so I guess it's safe to say this thing is tough. Battery life is also pretty good. I charged to 100% and then spent a half hour or so doing quite a lot of jars and it was at 52% when I was done. I don't know if the sale will last, but this also came at a great price. I think even at its regular price it is pretty good compared to the competition probably. Most seem to have the same basic design anyway.
