Screws too short to attach.

The two screws are not long enough for the nut to grab to attach to the butterfly mops (2) I have. I've had mine prob 10 yrs, and when the roller head mop broke, I ordered pads to use the two butterfly mops I have. Maybe some thickness or whatever of plastic changed over time, IDK if I can shave some plastic down and maybe the nut will sit lower and grab the screw. If not, I guess then I'll order a new mop and see if the screw is long enough for the nut to grab and attach. Was a problem not anticipating, so I haven't done anything yet. Frustrating, for something so simple. If the two screws were just a bit longer...what would that cost to do?
