Great Results Every Time

We use shredded potatoes for breakfasts, suppers, mini quiche and for making potato latkes for Hanukkah. No way am I going to grate/shred potatoes, even with a food processor, then wring out the excess liquid and watch raw potatoes turn brown only to fry them and have them turn out oily and gummy. Using pre-shredded potatoes results in crispy latkes, avoids all that mess, excessive prep time, and disappointment. Yay!

SHEET PAN HASH-BROWNS, set it and forget it

DELICIOUS! Super easy. Set it and forget it recipe! HASH BROWN SHEET PAN CRISPY BOTTOM SOFT TOP 20 oz package, frozen Great Value hash-browns, unseasoned 4 eggs 1/4 cup plain flour 1/4 cup milk, or sour cream 1/2 teaspoon coarse pepper, ( or less to taste) 3/4 teaspoon garlic salt, (or less) 4-6 small sweet, bell peppers, chopped 2 Vidalia, onions, chopped 1/4 cup dried parsley 2 tbls. Virgin olive oil Mix everything but potatoes. Add potatoes, stirring 2-3 minutes. Line broiler pan cover with thick foil. Spray with Pam. Also add 2-3 tbls. virgin olive oil to foil. Add potato mixture to the middle of pan all at once, pushing to the edges with a spatula. Bake uncovered middle of oven at 425* for 1 hour. Let set 10 minutes then cut and serve. Remove with spatula. Great with (hot %26 sweet) green pepper jelly. Options: chopped jalapeño pepper, 2-3 tbls. frozen chopped spinach, top with 8 slices of bacon (last 30 minutes of cooking), add chopped sausage when mixing, top half with grated sharp cheddar or pepper jack cheese, (adding cheese to the top may make it crispier or creamier, depending on how long you cook it). Great with cooked apples, applesauce, western omelettes. Can refrigerate and warm over the next day.

Doesn't freeze in a lump

One reason I like Great Value Shredded Hash Browns is that they don't freeze into a solid block - I literally have to hit the bag with a hammer to break up the brick of potatoes for other more expensive brands - I can usually break any small clumps with my fingers with the Great Value brand, but they are usually separated right out of the bag. Because they aren't in huge clumps in the pan, I don't end up with mushy hash browns. I definitely recommend trying Great Value Hash Browns - %26 other Great Value products - because I think they are better than the more recognizable name brands. They are easier to prepare %26 taste better because of it.
