I have 2 metal insulated water bottles that are about 4" x 10" and I can put one in each end pocket, they ride well there, don't feel like they'll fall out. I've been using a backpack, but it usually falls over when I put it down, where this has a very flat bottom so it stands up. I don't really need insulated lunch box, but it seems well constructed. The military inspired design has velcro on the front pocket, and the webbing loops on the back where you can attach a carabiner like for a key ring etc. Seems well made.
