Eager to hit the trail

The video for the Asher 85 clearly showed how to adjust the torso length. The straps on the top of the shoulder straps are connected at a good height on the pack so they function perfectly the angle isn't too steep or flat. My tent and sleeping bag fit side-by-side leaving lots of room for the stuff-it sacks. The chest strap is easily adjustable to be low enough so that the bear spray canister on it doesn't hit me in the throat. A LOT of stuff can be kept in the top compartment. Two straps near the bottom of the pack easily secure the sleeping pad. A large zippered pocket is built strong enough to take along the big magnum.

Great deal for a good bag

I was preparing to hike Eagle Rock Loop in Arkansas and needed a bigger bag to carry some group gear. Happened to be looking around Memorial Day and got the Asher85 for $149 plus tax. The bag handled 45lbs of gear well and did a great job of distributing weight so I didn't experience sore shoulders etc. It's only been on one backpacking trip so far but it did hold up quite well. The low price point along with the lifetime workmanship warranty made this bag a great buy. Would highly recommend for those wanting a good pack without moving up into the next price tier.

Asher 85 well worth it!

I bought this pack to prep for a 12 day backpacking trek in Philmont. I've gone on a few weekend excursions and this pack has been great. Holds the weight well and form to your body. All adjustments are easy to get to when you're on the fly. I use the top pouch for my food and stove. Very spacious and don't have to open the bag to get to it. Some more smaller pockets would be nice but the pack certainly serves it's purpose.
