Set of 4 Nokian ZLine A/S 245/40R17 91W Tires

I bought a set in December for my s60 2.5t AWD and a set in March for my v70R. I've not had any slips in rain but the s60 coming around a corner seemed a little off a week or two ago. That's why I've not given a full five. I have had Bridgestone all season pole position re970s for the last +100k shares on both cars and loved them but while a great tire and they get loud. These are whisper quiet and smooth as glass, so I don't expect them to last 60k. I've also not used them in winter weather much so I can't say. We had a freak snowstorm but I wouldn't call it a real trial. These are great tires and what a steal price wise. A friend recommended them and so the first set was a bit of a trial but I will say I was so happy I bought a second set. The price was actually cheaper three months later I think... These clean up well, look good, and are priced well. Give a set a try and I'd be surprised if you were disappointed. Limited sizes though? I tried to buy a set for my Dad's xj8 but they didn't have it.

Nokian has always had a good reputation for their winter tires, but decided to take a chance on these being that they're all season and extremely well priced. I know that these tires won't handle snow as well as some other offerings from Nokian like the WRG4, but I live in the south and may see snow on the roads 2-3 days a year. Dry handling is excellent, better than the Continental DWS / DWS06 that I've driven on previous vehicles. I took my FR-S to the tail of the dragon and found that the tires grip very well, not as well as a summer tire, but very close in performance. The exhibit great feedback when they start to lose grip and it's very gradual. Wet traction / handling is excellent. After 3 days of hard driving, the tires have some minor wear on the far outside tread blocks, but the tires are still at 9/32". I expect these to last several years given I don't do any more severe mountain driving. Ride quality is much better than the Michelin Primacy (prius tires) that were on previously, the tire is stiff with quick turn-in response (with 35psi cold pressure), but the ride quality is still relatively soft and not as harsh as the worn Michelins. The tires are also just as quiet as the Michelins, with little road noise once the tires break in after 500 miles or so. I would compare these tires to the Michelin AS3+, only without the Michelin tax, they may do some things better but it's really just splitting hairs at this point. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a performance AS tire on a relative budget, but doesn't encounter snow or harsh winter conditions on frequent occasions.
