This saved me a lot of money because I have a perfectly good, working sound system that's probably around 10 years old but it still works great with my 2 fronts 2 rears and sub. The problem was it doesn't have 4K capability so I can't directly hook up my TV and Xbox One to it because it's not supported. So rather than pay $300 for a new Receiver which still sounds great and works fine for sound, I simply hooked this cable up from my couple years old 4K TV out to my old receiver and set the connection to "TV" and now rather than having the receiver handle my HDMI's, I simply plugged all my HDMI's into my TV which has plenty ports (4), and now my receiver is doing what it intended to do (and a good job of it) by handling the sound only. So this was a simple solution that saved me a lot of money and I'm very happy with it.
