Considering that this chair cost half as much as anything similar, I was expecting the worst. However, i was pleasantly surprised. Packaging. It came in one large box which had obviously been through the wringer. Some of the items were well packaged, but some were not. Certain things looked like they had been opened and put back. The various screws were all mixed together, so be prepared to sort through 4 different sizes of screw. The negatives - not everything is labeled and assembly is difficult. You will need two people to put this together. Ideally, they should have totally different ways of looking at things because the diagrams are so unclear that you need at least two perspectives. It helps if one of you has very small hands, and the other is very good at forcing screws into place. The instructions don't tell you how to orient the pieces, so you're left guessing a lot of the time. It would help if you both have extensive experience assembling ikea furniture. This is like somebody took ikea instructions, and removed about 25% of the relevant details. This is a relationship tester piece of furniture. Be warned!! The neutrals and positives- once it's together it is a good deal FOR THE PRICE. It's made of partical board, so this isn't going to last forever. The fabric covering the cushions doesn't feel like it will hold up to dog nails, so i threw a blanket over it right away. The dimensions were accurately represented. There's definitely enough room on here for one smallish human (I'm 5'3") and one largish dog (75 lbs). Make sure you check the weight limit. The cushions are firm but comfortable. Overall.... if you're willing to go through the assembly, which is stressful, you'll be rewareded with a comfy piece of furniture that's on par with "big lots" quality. I'm glad i took the chance on it.

on the one I purchased, the holes on the filnal piece of the base did not line up, so I couldn't complete the assembly. I contacted them to return it and get a refund and still waiting for them to contact me.
