Freud 1-5/8 in. Dia. x 1/2 in. x 2-3/4 in. L Carbide Rounding Over Router Bit

I tested this bit on my router table with both softwood (syp) and hardwood (hard maple). For the 1st run, I set the bit for just a round-over, but full height in order to stress test the cutting ability. I was surprised at how clean the cut came out. There was a little blow-out on the long-grain going against the grain, but that cleaned up nicely. I then did a deeper cut both over the initial round-over - and on a new edge. The bit cut right through leaving a beautiful, clean surface. The wood was easy to feed, very little resistance, even on the end-grain on the maple. The photos below are straight off the router - no sanding or other clean-up. I didn't expect to get these results in one pass, with no tear-out.

The 1/2in roundover bit is one of my most used bits as I make a lot of my own drawer pulls and table tops. My most used happens to be Freuds which came on a 14 bit set, so I was very curious and excited to see how the new QuadraCut was going to do. Usually I take a few passes, raising the bit each time but I wanted to see just how good it is. I ran an inch thick piece of Beech(I think),which is very dense and very hard. I'm blown away by how smooth and easy the pass was for the bit to make. It's hard to tell in the photo but it looks and feels like it's ready for finish. It's absolutely perfect! I love routers and router bits, it's not easy these days to get me excited because I e tried them all. This new line of bits has me excited, not only because of the new 4 cutter style, that had me excited for sure. But now that I've used one, I'm excited to try more
