Autism Friendly Toothpaste
I am an adult autistic female and I didn't realize how much toothpaste without SLS would change my life. SLS is the chemical that makes toothpaste foam way more than it should and is the reason we can't eat certain things after brushing teeth (think orange juice).However, this toothpaste still foams up enough to brush teeth effectively! Now I am able to brush my teeth and immediately eat or drink anything on days I'm in a rush or just had to brush first due to sensory struggles. SLS is also bad for the environment, I believe. I like a clean mouth feeling and didn't realize how often I put off brushing due to the extreme mint flavors and SLS in other toothpastes. This mint flavor is more gentle but still very clean feeling. I began with the dragon dazzle (blue raspberry) flavor of this brand toothpaste first and it was fantastic! I just sometimes missed having a minty finish. Now I have and use both depending on my mood. Also important to note is that this toothpaste has fluoride! I wanted SLS free but needed fluoride to protect my teeth. I've used this brand toothpaste for over a year and all my dental visits have come back with great news of no cavities and healthy!
