Zinsser 00851 Bulls Eye SealCoat Universal Sanding Sealer, Gallon

I use the product in furniture refinishing, since it is a de-waxed shellac it works well not only as a sanding sealer it is an effective barrier coat over any previous finishes that may have contained silicone )common item in furniture polish) or other contaminates. I spray my finishes which is important since shellac will tend to build up on edges when brushing spraying eliminates that issue. My finishing coats are completed using lacquer. Typically two coats of lacquer followed by 3 or more coats of lacquer. As I side benefit using the sanding sealer you can see defects that can be repaired before applying finishing coats of lacquer and you will need less lacquer than if you had not used the sanding sealer.
